4.5 out of 5 stars

This is a classic and should not be missed. A newly-wed school teacher hits a naughty student who collapses and gets admitted in the hospital. The guilt ridden teacher is asked to go in hiding until the issue is sorted out. While the teacher is on the run, tension starts building up due to the boy’s health. What happens in the lives of all the characters involved forms the simple plot. What makes the film different is its characterisation, a sincere narration, smooth screenplay, amazing photography and a great BGM. The songs have been used well and a special mention must be made on the use of Bharathiya’s song. The film is slow yet the tension is always maintained and that to me is master screenplay. The actors have played their part well and special mention must be made on the heroine and the person who plays the angry communist. The film has a few strong messages and they are conveyed without being preachy. It makes you think, it makes you cry, it makes you leave with a lump in your throat and yet it is enjoyable. That is why it is a great film.
