A visually stunning yet utterly boring movie that is watchable only for the last 30 minutes. The story is based on Mahabharata and Hindu mythology. Ashwathama (Amitabh) is cursed by Krishna to remain immortal until he saves Kalki (Vishnu’s last avatar) during his birth. In 2898 AD, Kamal is a tyrant ruler and a villain who experiments with fertile women. When Deepika Padukone is about to deliver Kalki, Ashwathama returns to save her. Meanwhile a bounty hunter (Prabhas) tries to capture her for Kamal. Who succeeds form the basic plot. The first half is really slow and tests your patience. There is not a single interesting scene in the first half. The second half survives due to some high octane action sequences. The film is inspired and generally uses ideas from films such as Mad Max Fury Road, Blade Runner, Star Wars and few more. Kudos to the director for his vision and even though it is inspired, the visuals are mind blowing. There are few interesting cameos and I loved the SSR one. The action sequences in the last 30min and some predictable reveal makes the ending interesting. It could have been better as a single part racy movie…there is one more concluding part and that’s the sad part.
