4.5 out of 5 stars

Wow! Vetrimaaran delivers another brilliant film. Vijay Sethupathi is a revolutionary leader. The government has branded him as a terrorist and they deploy a large police force to capture him. Gautham Menon is the DSP assigned this task. The story is about Soori as a police constable, his love and his role in police mission. The film takes time to establish itself. This is quite understandable in a two part film. Soori has come up with a career best performance. He fits the role perfectly. The tension slowly builds up with glimpses of police brutality that sets the context well. The second half is very good and especially the climax has been shot well. Illayaraja’s music is a big big plus. The cinematography is good too. All credit to Vetrimaaran for being so consistent in making movies that stand out. Can’t wait for the Part 2 to release.
