Valiyavan could have been a lot better but unfortunately fails to impress. A film from director Saravanan creates some expectations because of his previous two films (Engeyum Eppothum and Ivan Vera Maathiri). The director has indeed tried something different by hiding his cards and trying to create some curiosity. However, the screenplay is miserable, and many scenes appear to be stretched. Jai and Andreah’s love story is not convincing. Some scenes are funny but mostly they are boring. Songs are good to hear but the placement is bad. The villain is also a dummy and hence the climax falls flat.
