A fantastic adult comedy film that can only be enjoyed if you not a hypocrite. Every now and then we have seen movies like Thulluvatho Illamai or New or Boys which have been throughly enjoyed by youth/students (especially men) but have received severe criticism from the media/crtics. There are films for children and there are films for women…along with their numerous sentiments (Amman, Thaali, etc.). I don’t see a reason why there can’t be an adult themed film targeted at youth & men. I am sure we are no longer in an era where movies have to corrupt young minds. Oops…I am yet to review the film but this is something that I wanted to say from the Thulluvatho Illamai days. GV Prakash is a childhood friend of Anandhi and Manisha Yadav. He is a close friend to both of them. In his 12th standard, he suddenly realises that he is in love with Anandhi. Anandhi has the same feeling and proposed to him. One night they meet in private and kiss each other. GV shares this with his friend and this spreads to everyone in school. Anandhi splits with GV and at the same time Manisha proposes to him. Manisha is a forward-thinking girl and GV is a male chauvinist (like most tamil audiences). when GV prevents her from drinking, she splits with him. Our virgin hero meets Anandhi again and thus goes the story. Kudos to GV for acting in this film. He has done extremely well and will be the real “darling” of the masses. Anandhi is good too. There are a lot of adult themed jokes (David Pulla, “matter” related, condom jokes, etc.). There are also some excessive scenes which will make the female gender uncomfortable. There are also some good humour like the “Sengal” Psycho. Music really rocks and all the songs are proper kuthu and gets people on the feet. I am not sure if the character of the hero is designed to be chauvinistic or if the director genuinely wanted to please the audience by making the hero talk about women drinking. Either ways such scenes should be avoided as it is regressive in a progressive theme. Last words: Don’t miss this film if you have enjoyed Dhanush’s debut film and don’t blame me if you are offended.
