4 out of 5 stars

Loved every bit of this movie. It is an entertaining love story with a good dose of humor and the right sentiments. Well, the story is not new. It is a re-hash of Manirathnam’s classic – Mouna Ragam. Most people fail in such attempts and thats why full credit needs to be given to debutant director Atlee. When the movie begins with the tagline, “There is Life after Love Failure”, one knows what is going to come. There are 4 lead actors and all of them have done a fine job. The best role is that of Jai and he simply rocks. He is simply hilarious as a call center employee. Arya’s role is a cake walk for him. Nazria delivers yet again. It is so nice to see Nayan again and I don’t think there is anyone else who could have played this role better. There are many drunken philosophies and subtle scenes that leave a strong message. My favourite is a scene where Jai looks at the ring gifted by Nayan. Sathyaraj is brilliant in all his scenes. What took Mouna Ragam to a different level was Illayaraja’s music and this is a weak area for Raja Rani. GV Prakash’s BGM was good but the songs were ordinary and act as speed breakers. Wish there are more such romantic tamil movies in future.
