it is such a joy to watch a true Rajini movie after several years. I felt bad when Rajinism was overshadowed by technology or when he was used to make films that didn’t really did justice to the superstar that he is. Here is a film that everyone will enjoy. Right from the very first title when we see the Baasha Super Star title, we know what to expect. Then comes a fantastic opening scene with a great introduction fight. Rajini as a hostel warden with a past is Marana Mass. Every scene in the first half is interesting. The film drags a bit in the second half when the story moves to Uttar Pradesh. Indian films don’t know how to use guns and this film too is no exception. Except the gun fight sequences everything else is good. The climax is good too. The film has a big star cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Sasikumar, Bobby Simha, Nawazuddin Siddique, Simran, Trisha, etc. While some of them have a small role yet in a Rajini film we know that the focus will be only on Rajini. Anirudh’s music and BGM is top class. All credit to director Karthik Subbaraj for coming up with a Mass Rajinikanth that we have missed for long. Kudos for making such an entertaining movie.
