A faithful remake of Malayalam hit Maheshinte Prathikaaram. I like it when people don’t meddle with a good movie and spoil it in the name of adding nativity. Udhayanidhi Stalin is a photographer. During a local fight, he tries to pacify those involved but gets beaten. He decides not to wear his sandals until he exacts his revenge on the person who hit him (Samuthirakani). How he manages to do that forms the plot. Udhayanidhi has played his role well and so does everyone involved in the film. The cinematography is excellent. The beauty of the screenplay is that a simple plot keeps you hooked for little over two hours. Don’t know what is the role of director Priyadarshan in this remake. True, successfully remaking a film also requires talent and the director has indeed succeeded.
