3.5 out of 5 stars

Another good movie from Director Suseenthiran. These days, if Vishnu Vishal is acting in a movie one can blindly go and watch it because his film selection is so right. The story happens in 1980s where the lower caste people are not allowed many basic rights in a village. Parthiban fights for their rights. Vishnu Vishal is a state first student whose education is sponsored by Parthiban. Vishnu dreams of becoming a collector. The upper caste people conspire against him and the film is about how they manage it. The first half moves at a great pace and is thrilling. In the second half the movie slightly slackens. Climax is apt and very good. The strength of the movie is Parthiban’s acting and strong dialogues. The director had plenty of opportunity to showcase violence, yet he refrained from it. Kudos. The songs in second half slow the narration. A film with a great message and a must watch for that reason.
