4 out of 5 stars

A good sports film but more than that it has a strong message that will resonate well after you walk out of the theatre. It is a template sports story with a mix of several sports movies we have seen in the past. However, this a Tamil movie and we haven’t watched such movies in Tamil and hence it is refreshing. Sathyaraj is a farmer in Kulithalai and he loves watching cricket. Seeing him cry after India losing a match, his daughter decides to grow-up and become a cricket player and win a match for the country. The film addresses two story tracks. A daughter’s dream and a farmer’s dream. Kudos to singer, lyricist turned director, Arunraja Kamaraj for coming up with a solid movie that talks about both these topics seamlessly. Aishwarya Rajesh has played her role to perfection. There is a third topic on women can achieve any heights and this is also addressed very well. There are several emotional goosebump moments. Though the film isn’t too long, the pace is slow and hence you feel like you have watched the film for a long time. A lovely film for cricket fans and for those who fail to worship the farmers.
