A good mass action thriller. A narcotics police team seizes drugs worth 800Crore. The drug mafia places a bounty for the heads of these 5 policemen. Karthi is a convict who gets released from jail and is on his way to see his daughter for the first time. The film is about how he protects the policemen. The first half just races through keeping you mostly at the edge of your seats. The second half turns into a regular mass film with some sentiment scenes. With such a good screenplay the director could have put on his thinking cap and used some innovative methods to tackle the problem. Every time a group of killers arrive, the director banks only on Karthi’s muscle power to fight them off. As in all commercial movies Karthi is able to fight even after multiple knife stabs and send the henchmen flying in the air. This gets tiring towards the end. The climax is good and doesn’t depend on Karthi’s muscle power and that is a relief. Kudos to director Lokesh Kanagaraj for a great action thriller and the technical crew including music director SamCS.
