This gangster is boring. A disappointing film from Karthik Subbaraj. Dhanush is Suruli, a local henchman in Madurai. Due to a certain situation he has to be away from Madurai for a month. Exactly at the same time, a London gangster is looking for Suruli to help him kill his opponent!? Does Suruli succeed in his London mission forms the plot. There is absolutely no logic and several situations seems forced. Why would the biggest gangster in London want someone from Madurai to solve his problem? Dhanush easily manages several complex tasks. Joju George is good as the Tamil gangster but there is so much confusion in what he actually does. Aishwarya Lakshmi’s character is also unclear. Why would she fall in love with a killer, is it because he is the hero? The film is easily an hour long because the second half drags big time. The only saving grace is SA Na’s music and Dhanush’s performance.
