A film that should not be missed. As a story, it is not something that we have not seen before. Movies like Chak De India or Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu or several hollywood films have already explored a similar story where a coach motivates an under achiever/team to succeed. It is the treatment that makes the film stand out. Madhavan is brilliant as the coach. He has gained weight, built his body and has trained in boxing to play the role to perfection. The surprise find is Ritika Singh who deserves an award for her natural acting. She is a martial art professional in real life yet to perform on screen is entirely a different ask and she is simply superb. Without her performance the film wouldn’t have been so good. Another biggest strength is Santosh Narayan’s great songs and brilliant BGM. He is a winner and impresses us in every film. All the characters have played the role to perfection and the dialogues with subtle humour makes the film more interesting. There are no dull moments and at less than 2hrs, the film moves at lightning speed. Kudos to director Sudha Kongara Prasad, who has come back with another good film after a long gap. I am sure the success of this film will help her make more good film at a quicker pace.
