3.5 out of 5 stars

An interesting crime thriller that keeps you hooked to the screen mostly though the running time makes it a tedious watch. Nayanthara is a CBI officer who deals with notorious psycho killer, Rudra (Anurag Kashyap). The film is about the cat and mouse game played by these two. Why Rudra kills these people and why he drags Nayan into this is narrated with a lot of twists and engaging moment. Where the director falters is with the sub plots. One involving Atharva’s love story and the other involving Nayan’s love story. For a crime thriller, two flashback love stories and a run time of almost 3 hours is not necessary. The director could have easily finished the movie once the motive is revealed and not drag the film further with a twist and another love story flashback. Anurag Kashyap is brilliant as the psycho killer and Nayan is good too. Atharva doesn’t have much to do until the very end. The villain is more strategic in thinking than the CBI officer. There are no brilliant ideas from Nayan until the end. A few intelligent twists could have made the film more interesting.
