2.5 out of 5 stars

Strictly for Ajith fans who could also feel bored beyond a point. AK is a gangster who decided to turn a new leaf when his son is born. He goes to jail for his crimes. Just when he gets released, his son gets kidnapped. How a good Ajith turns Bad and finally Ugly to save his son forms the basic plot. The weak plot is balanced by several references to past movies and dialogues of Ajith. The director tries to create a loud movie that gets his fans nostalgic. There are also several 80s and 90s songs (4-5 such songs!!) inserted to make the audience relate with the vintage feel that the director wants to provide. The fans of the actor play along for some time. However, the director goes overboard with over the top gun fights and scenes that were conceived only to glorify vintage Ajith. The dialogues constantly take references of his movie titles or dialogues and sometimes have rhyming words like TR movies. Most laziest script in recent times. Ajith tries his best to satisfy the fans and succeeds to some extent. GV Prakash’s music is also unimpressive. The scene that gets maximum claps was Priya Warrier’s dance to the 1999 song from a Simran movie. If only the director had a good plot with decent twists and some intelligent ideas executed by the hero combined with the homage to the hero, the film would have turned into a hit. Today’s youngsters will not understand this film and there is a high risk that it could turn into a troll material.
