A tiring film yet watchable because this is the first time we have made a 3D film that is close to international standards in terms of graphics. Akshay Kumar an ornithologist commits suicide in the very first scene and soon all the mobiles in the city disappear. It is now scientist Rajni and his Chitti robot’s responsibility to solve the mystery and save the humans. The first part (Enthiran) had a story with some love and emotions. In this version, the story is weak and the film relies only on the great graphics and 3D. Neither Rajini nor Akshay look like themselves. I knew Rajini’s robot acts will be completely VFX but expected something out of Akshay’s characterization. Akshay too is completely a VFX person and looks different in every scene. His dubbing is bad and one doesn’t even know if he is a ghost or just a negative energy with insane capabilities. Amy too has no big role. The fight scenes lack imagination and they are so repetitive and that is the reason why the film is so tiring. There are no songs until the very end and no comedy too. Shankar’s hard work is visible in every frame and the film is watchable only for his efforts and the graphics. Again while the graphic is top class for Indian standards, there is still a lot desired to compare with international standards. Take your kids because they will have a blast. Kids like Power Rangers but sorry I don’t enjoy it that much. I badly want to watch a Rajini film
