3 out of 5 stars

is strictly for fans of art house cinema. It is too slow with a wafer thin plot and relies only on the shocking climax. It could have been a great thriller short film but is stretched to a feature film only for those folks who can appreciate aspects of film making. The story is simple. Five men decide to spend a holiday in a house on the outskirts of their town. They drink the day out and then play a game which ends in a shocking climax. The characterisation is brilliant and the dialogues are equally good. The film focuses on different human characters and how the powerful decide the fate of the powerless. There is also political undertones which could be understood only by those who are savvy. The only woman character represents the plight of women in a “man’s world” and how she tolerates insults and how she is strong. The music and cinematography are brilliant. Especially the last 20min is shot in a single continuous take. If only the film had a faster narration pace, it would have reached more people. Noteworthy effort.
