Kali is an excellent thriller. The film has an interesting first half and an intense second half that brings you to the edge of your seat. Dulquer Salmaan is extremely short tempered and gets agitated even with a slightest provocation. Sai Pallavi is his college sweetheart who marries him knowing very well about his rage (Kali). Dulquer’s anger gets him into trouble most of the time and Sai Pallavi helps balance his nature and control him. The film focuses on one such night where Dulquer loses his cool and lands in a big trouble. The first half has some great romantic moments and scenes that make you laugh. Dulquer excels in his role. He is brilliant. Sai Pallavi’s charm continues in this film too and her close up scenes, dance movements and the gorgeous saree scene brought the maximum claps in the theatre. The second half changes gear and gets really dark. It is so thrilling that I could hear the girl sitting behind me breathe heavily. Gopi Sundar’s songs are not so impressive but his background score is extraordinary. The music and cinematography lift the film to a different level. Don’t miss this film.
