3.5 out of 5 stars

Shershaah is a well-made real life story based on Captain Vikram Batra who played an important role during the Kargil War. The story starts with a young Vikram Batra fighting with elder children over a cricket ball. This fearless nature and his patriotism takes him to Indian army when he grows up. In flashback sequences, we also get to see his love story. The film is about his contribution during the Kargil War and also the what happens with his love story. The film is thrilling and the war sequences have been shot well. Good performances from all the actors. Director Vishnuvardhan has ensured a tight screenplay that keeps you mostly engaged. The love story is a distraction and drags at times. The director could have made this much shorter as the heroine doesn’t have a big role to play.
