The film starts of well, peaks during the intermission, starts slowing down in the second half and fizzles out during the weak climax. It is a rise and fall story of an illicit liquor kingpin. It is a role that is tailor made for SRK and he excels in all the mass scenes. Nawazuddin is a police official who tries hard to bring him down. Every time SRK and Nawaz meet, sparks fly and the dialogues are superbly executed. Especially a particular scene where a glass of chai is kept inside a van is the highlight. The film has no twists, the heroine looks out of place and the action scenes lack the punch. You can watch the film only for SRK, his style and dialogue delivery.
