2.5 out of 5 stars

An average flick that does not live up to the expectations of SRK’s fans. SRK fans were clapping and whistling during the initial scenes but later turned silent. The movie is not bad. It has a great star cast, good music and some interesting moments. The film fails to rise above because of its lengthy narration (3hrs), a diamond heist story that we have seen many times (from Jugnu days till today, diamond is kept in a safety vault with deadly laser beam and secret passcode…yet the hero always manages to steal) and most importantly some silly humour that misses its mark many times. SRK assembles a group losers (Abhishek B has played an interesting role) to steal some expensive diamonds. The catch: They need to participate in a dance competition. They take the help of Deepika who trains them to be dancers. Did they manage to pull of their heist forms the basic plot. Deepika is another person who steals the limelight with her broken english. Her liberal dressing policy doesn’t leave anything to our imagination (should SRK really crack such crass comments on her B?…B-grade comedy). Loved the songs and the picturization. The film has a rich production value. The cost of production is huge yet the film is bound to make 200 Crores in the first few days. With such star cast and production, the film has to make 500 crores to be termed a hit. Yet when the producers claim a 300 crore return, our audiences will think the film is as good as 3 idiots which made the same revenue 5 years ago. You can definitely watch the film if you are a fan of SRK. I liked the end credits which also has a surprise debut star.
