2.5 out of 5 stars

The film is a remake of Akira Kurasowa’s Seven Samurai. While the production values are good and the action scenes have been shot well, the film lacks pace. A Texas village is about to taken over by a bad man with a huge army of goons. The village takes the help of seven individuals who come together and fight for the village. It is true that the western movies of yesteryear were slow paced with great music. That’s the style we have admired in Sergio Lionne. However today, in the fast world, this style looks outdated. The gun fight sequences in the last 20min is interesting. Other than the narrative, the film is watchable. Don’t remake classics. Btw, I didn’t see due credit passed onto Kurasowa.
