This is no sudden move for director Steven Soderbergh. Crime Drama is his familiar territory and he has played to his strength. The film is about a blackmail that doesn’t go as planned and how the lead characters manage the situation. This period film is well written, however the situations could have been dealt in a better manner. Some of the scenes look forced and the ending doesn’t do justice to an otherwise well written screenplay.
