3.5 out of 5 stars

is an interesting film based on the true story of Molly Bloom. Molly is a skier who had a chance to get into the olympics. An accident prevents her from skiing again. She joins as an employee and assists her boss who runs a high stake poker game. The story is about how she learns the tricks and starts running her own game until she is arrested. The film starts with the arrest and I haven’t given away anything. This is Jessica Chastain’s best performance and even better that her two Oscar nominations. Hopefully she should get another nomination this time. The narration is pretty interesting and as the story moves back and forth, we get to learn more about Molly and her character. Not your typical action or comedy entertainer yet the film keeps you hooked.
