A brilliant film and a must watch. Making movies on Superhero is relatively easier but making one on a villain is extremely tricky. Giving a backstory that is convincing but doesn’t make you feel too sympathetic to villain is a challenge. Now, to make this a whistle worthy mass film requires a lot of skills. Todd Phillips has managed to do that with ease. We are shown a failing comedian who has a medical condition. He is abused and beaten up in the very first scene and continues to face a lot of hardship. In one such moment he lets out his frustration and that slowly leads to a movement against the rich in Gotham City. Joaquin Phoenix is brilliant in his Oscar deserving performance. You can clearly feel his emotions as his life keeps going downhill and as the Joker starts to take over. The dialogues are very good. Audience seems to enjoy this film like they would for a DC or Marvel superhero film. Joker once said to Batman, “what would I do without you?”; what would we do without a super villain like Joker?
