5 out of 5 stars

Wow! What a film. The boundaries have been stretched really far by every individual involved in this film. Michael Keaton is an actor whose popularity is fading. He used to act as Birman which used to be a popular series. In a last effort to re-start his career, he acts and directs a Broadway play. The film focuses on the various challenges faced by him (including his own alter ego which keeps questioning him) and whether he manages to succeed. Keaton is brilliant and definitely deserves an Oscar for his performance. The cinematography is truly a masterpiece and with some interesting editing, the whole film looks like it has been continuously shot. Hitchcock’s Rope had similar camera work but this one is really fantastic and completely blew me. Another Oscar reserved. The vision, writing and direction of Alejandro proves once again why he is considered a one of the best in the industry. The drums track in the background score kept following me even after the film is over. Highly recommended.
