5 out of 5 stars

Watched the classic Jafar Panahi’s Taxi in Chennai Film Festival. Wow! What a film! The director has been banned to from making movies for 20 years. Despite the ban, he has made a fantastic and a unique movie. With multiple cameras placed in his car, the director himself drives around Tehran posing as a taxi driver. The film focussed on the various characters who get into his car and the their conversations. The film is a big lesson to aspiring film makers. Especially, there is a scene where an aspiring film maker asks the director for a good plot and the director’s response is one of the best dialogue I have heard in a long time. The film shows that creativity has no limit. No one can suppress an artist because his canvas is bigger than the world. The audience have a standing ovation. Hats off.
