4.5 out of 5 stars

A brilliant animated film from Miyazaki and is second only to “Spirited Away” (which is also from the same director). The story is simple. A group of miners and forest animals get into a war. The hero has to stop the war and also find a cure to a curse. Like most Gibli movies the film is engaging from start to end. The colours and animation are really good. Music is top class too. The dialogues are philosophical at times. Sometimes the hero’s action is confusing and that could have been explained better. For some strange reasons this film was long pending in my watch list and I am glad that I managed to watch it.
