4.5 out of 5 stars

A fantastic film and not to be missed. Kudos to debutant director, Arun Prabhu Purushothaman for coming up with such a lovely gem that deserves a few awards. Mixing humour with message is not easy and the director has done that perfectly. The film starts with Aruvi being interrogated as a terrorist. In parallel, we also get to see Aruvi’s backstory as a little girl, her teenage and as a grown up college goer. How she landed up as terrorist forms a plot that I cannot talk about without spoiling your fun. The film has a serious message which is narrated in a hilarious manner. The first half and most part of the second half are funny and the theatre bursts into laughter. Even a simple dialogue, “Rolling Sir” has audience in split. Aditi Balan as Aruvi is the soul of this film. She deserves a national award for her performance and I will be surprised if she doesn’t get it. The songs and music are a big plus. The Solvathellam Unmai segment covers almost half the film and it is both funny as well as has a message in it. The director could have easily made this a comedy film. Choosing to make it interesting with a hard hitting climax and beautifully blending it with a story narrated in the film is reason why I love movies. Why Aruvi cannot go back to her past happy youthful days is reason enough for us to understand several lessons on life. Not to be missed.
