is worth a watch if you haven’t watched the animated version. This Chinese folk story is about a girl who joins the king’s army in her father’s place. Dressed as a man, she fights the ruthless enemy to save her country. This live action film is a faithful remake of the animated version but unfortunately doesn’t live up to the original. There are many unwanted scenes and too many coincidences or irrational scenes. However, we can overlook them for the sake of a strong female oriented film.
