I liked the first part very much. Singam 2 would have been good if the film was 30min shorter. The film starts with few scenes from the first part and goes on endlessly for 170min till you feel you have watched Singam 3,4&5. The film has 2 heroines, 2 comedians, 4 villains and several blink and you will miss artists. The film is not a bore. There are few scenes that are indeed interesting. However, the illogical narration, forced fast pace, speed breaker telugu type songs, punch/sentiment dialogues and the numerous fights with fragile henchmen tests the audience’s patience. Director Hari didn’t want to waste the 100 Aruvals he ordered and hence there is even an aruva fight for Surya (he breaks his gun to fight with Aruva!). Heroines are wasted. The enjoyable scenes are the ones with Santhanam (he gets more claps than the hero). Surya has given his sincere efforts but he needs to realize that he is not a mass hero and focus on his strengths. If you liked Singam, watch it twice at home…don’t go to theatre expecting another Singam.
