2.5 out of 5 stars

First things first. I am a Vijay fan and for over a decade I watch Ajith films hoping it to be bad. I liked Villain, Attahasam and Varalaru a lot. Of course, Ajith has mostly satisfied Vijay fans more in the last decade. I try my best to be neutral in my reviews but still you can decide to ignore this review. I loved the first half. It was excellent. Except for the first 15min of Aarya’s introduction everything else was racy and edge of the seat (wonder why Aarya was shown fat with a bad makeup?). The second half is a treat for Vijay fans. The film takes a sudden turn and there are terrorists, gun shots, rifle shots, machine gun shots, bomb blasts, blood and amateurish graphics. There is no logic and one wonders if it is a Vijayakanth film. Ajith and Aarya are Ok. Ajith looks old. Nayantara is stunning. Tapsee is pathetic. Yuvan’s music is a disappointment. A good Aarambham turns into a Rambham due to director’s poor screenplay. Watch once for Ajith and the good first half.
