3.5 out of 5 stars

A good sport movie after a long time. It is Cricket Vs Basketball battle. This is director Arivazhagan’s second film fate the brilliant Eeram. The second film is always more difficult than the first one. The director’s pressure is clearly evident because he tries to please the audience with an unwanted romance, a couple of love songs, a beach song and some out of place action scenes. The director must have thought that a plain sport movie might not go well with audience. Surprisingly it is the sport part that works well. The hero is a diehard basketball fan who joins a college where cricket is the only important sport. How the hero brings focus to basketball is narrated in an interesting way. The BGM and cinematography are very good. Some good songs have been wasted due to wrong placement. The heroine is a waste. Jagan’s comedy works. However the biggest comedy is during the end credits where they show some greatest Indian sports personalities…Sachin, Anand, Sania Mirza, Mary Kom, Michael Phelps (?!), Abhinav Bindra, Kapil Dev….and Actor Ajit as a car racer (?!!!?). Apart from this joke, I liked the film and would recommend it.
