4.5 out of 5 stars

Another gem from Pizza director, Karthik Subbaraj. A brilliant film with excellent star cast and with some great music makes this a must watch. A ruthless gangster (Bobby Simha) rules Madurai. An aspiring director (Siddarth) goes to Madurai to write a story based on this gangster. Siddarth has underplayed his role and it is Bobby who steals the show. He has once again proven his awesomeness. The film needed a girl next door and someone less glamorous, hence Lakshmi Menon has been made the heroine. While it is OK for the character, I personally can’t stand her. It is now a cliché to say that Santosh Narayanan’s music is great….infact in this film it is the soul of the movie and is double great. The film is too long and could have easily been made shorter by atleast 15min, yet it is a director’s film throughout, and he has clearly marked his stamp as the next gen director whom we can celebrate. Now, forget what I have written, go less prepared and have a great time.
