Purging gets better than the first part. In 2023, a car breakdown and a couple gets stranded on the road when the annual purge starts. A police officer is on the road to take revenge and there is another mother-daughter duo who are in trouble because of a group trying to kill them. What happens to them during Purge forms rests of the story. Yet again, the film thrills from start until the very end. The film also touches upon the differences in society and how purge is actually used by the government to reduce poverty and unemployment (by killing the poor). The ending is apt and makes you want more.
