3 out of 5 stars

It is a good family drama and a disappointing action film. The role is tailor made for Dhanush. A middle-class boy who falls in love with Amy but due to circumstances gets married to Samantha. His dad encounters a problem at work and commits suicide. How Dhanush manages his family after this disaster and how he tracks down the reason for his dad’s death forms the rest of the story. The first half is a breeze and really enjoyable. The entire Amy’s portion is youthful and fun filled. It is the second half that is uninspiring with no twists and a linear screenplay. The action scenes are forced. While the songs are good the BGM from Anirudh is too loud and noisy. The punch dialogues are silly too. I liked the scenes between Samantha and Dhanush. The film has some great family moments that makes the family audience. However the lack of a powerful villain and brainless scenes make the action segments stretched and without a purpose. The director should have tried to infuse something different. You can watch it once for Dhanush and the leading ladies. Most of the time Dhanush is kissing the leading ladies or they are returning the favour. As always, I didn’t like others kissing Amy or Samantha πŸ˜‰
