An honest sports movie that interests you from start till the very end. The film is about boxing but when you walk out, it makes you think about a lot of other things that influences you in everyday life…that is the biggest strength of the film and a writer’s success. Jayam Ravi is a local boxer who is made to fight on television with his arch rival. Though he wins the match, he plans to quit boxing. However, the television channel owner, Prakashraj has bigger plans and tricks Jayam Ravi into boxing again. There is also an international psycho boxer villain and a love angle with Trisha. Jayam Ravi is totally convincing as a north madras boxer. The fights are genuine and engaging. However, it is SP Jananathan’s writing that stands out. His social concerns once again gets you thinking and towards the end, he scores continuously. Srikanth Deva’s songs are a letdown. Trisha has no big role to play. I am giving an additional 0.5 only for those hard-hitting dialogues. Watch the film.
