Watched the english dubbed version of this oscar nominated animation film. This is a film from the Ghibli studio and has all the right influence and style of Miyazaki’s work. Ana, a young girl goes to live in the countryside. She gets obsessed with an old mansion and starts seeing a golden-haired girl, Marnie. While Marnie initially appears to be an imaginary character, slowly she starts seeing evidences of her existence. Who is Marnie and how she changes Ana forms the plot. The animation is extraordinary like any other Ghibli films. The story, expressions, colours and music add to the brilliance. The film is a must watch for animation lovers. It is sad that Ghibli has temporarily stopped making films. This one is their last film before shutting the studio and unfortunately it could lose the Oscar to Inside Out.
