3.5 out of 5 stars

A great film on culture and the importance of family bonding. An old lady is terminally ill. Without letting her know about her condition, her entire family assemble from across the world in the pretext of a wedding. They want to see her and spend time with her before she passes away. The film also touches upon the love between the grandmother and her American-Chinese granddaughter. The film is about the love that all of them share and it also explains some of Chinese culture and family values. Beatifically taken with great performances. Sadly, this film has been overlooked for oscars (though it won the Golden Globes).
